Seeking LAHS Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors To Apply For LAMC’s 2026 ‘Multiple Avenues For Successful Healthcare’ Program

LAMC News:

Continuing a community tradition, Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) and Los Alamos High School are very pleased to once again offer the Multiple Avenues for Successful Healthcare (MASH) program to interested and eligible high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

The goal of this annual program is to expose local students to the multiple exciting and rewarding career opportunities available in their hometown hospital.

This one-week job shadowing experience will occur on the LAMC campus, at 3917 West Road, June 1-5. The shadowing program is designed to involve interactive activities and presentations by LAMC healthcare staff that will provide students with true exposure to various healthcare careers.

Students selected for the program must be able to devote one week of time from approximately 8 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. (Monday-Friday). The early hours are designed to allow students to properly observe the medical activities in many areas and departments. Lunch will be provided each day. Students are encouraged to attend as many days of the program as possible, as it is very structured and builds upon each day’s exposure and learning.

Students will attend a hospital orientation on the first morning of the program. There will be a celebratory graduation ceremony at the end of the project (parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend). A detailed day-by-day schedule will be provided to students accepted into the MASH program.

Applications may be obtained through People Services (Human Resources) at LAMC, and through counselors at the high school. The completed application must be returned no later than Friday, April 17, (either in person or via email) to Trisha Werner, People Services Generalist, Patricia.Werner@lpnt.net.

Direct questions to PHR, People Services Director Jacqueline Carroll at (O) 505.661.9551 or (C) 505.412.2537, or via email at Jacqui.Carroll@lpnt.net.
