HMS IMPLACABLE News:

Lady Dame Doreen Gunkel, Countess White Lion, one of the founding members of HMS Implacable, Los Alamos’ chapter of the Royal Manticoran Navy passed away July 27, 2023.

Doreen left behind a legacy of dedication and compassion. One of her passion projects was Toys for Tots. Doreen has been the driving force behind the success of the Los Alamos Toys for Tots campaign since 2014.

She was our organizer, cheerleader, and chief motivator. She led by example and showed up year after year despite her personal health challenges. Over the last 9 years the Los Alamos Toys for Tots efforts collected over $120,000 worth of toys, due in large part to Doreen’s dedication.

To honor her memory, this year’s campaign has been declared the Doreen M. Gunkel Memorial Toys for Tots Campaign.

Please help us make this year our best and brightest in her memory and as a way of saying we will continue her great work.
