Call For Letters Of Interest: Replacement For Unexpired Term Of Sen. Carlos Cisneros Deadline Nov. 7

The Los Alamos County Council is seeking Letters of Interest from those interested in filling the unexpired term of State Senator Carlos Cisneros, who passed away recently.

The Council, together with the Commissions of Santa Fe, Rio Arriba and Taos Counties, has the responsibility of providing the Governor with the name of a recommended individual for the position.

They plan to take action on this matter at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at their Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. Letters of interest should include the individual’s name, address, job/organization if applicable and one or two pages detailing “why” they believe they are a good choice to fill the vacancy. Letters must be received no later than Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5:00 p.m. The letters and a sworn Affidavit that the candidate meets the necessary qualifications should be submitted to the County Manager’s Office, 1000 Central Ave, Ste 350, Los Alamos, NM 87544.

The Affadavit listing the qualifications can be found on line at www.losalamosnm.us or at the County Manager’s office.

Any individual submitting a Letter of Interest must attend the Council meeting on Nov. 12 and be prepared to respond to questions from Councilors.

The individual selected by the Governor will fill Cisneros’ term, which expires Dec. 31, 2020.
