The Los Alamos Photo Club (LAPC) is hosting its 26th Annual Show April 29-May 26 in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library.
This year the opening reception for entrants, club members and the public is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, May 2.
The show is intended to give people who live and work in Los Alamos and the surrounding area a chance to display their photographs in a formal exhibit. Entries are not juried. However, prints on photographic paper are expected to be nicely framed with a wire on back for hanging.
Participating photographers are encouraged to join the Club but are not required to be members to display their photographs.
Entrants may have some photos published in the Club’s annual photo show book

Participants are asked to submit their entry information by Friday, April 22 to John Sarracino at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please identify the description of work with the subject line: “Description of entry (or entries) for 2022 LAPC show by [name of photographer]”. Based on the information provided, the Club will produce wall tags for each entry.

Drop-off and hanging procedures. Bring entries 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 27 to the Step Up Gallery on the upper level of Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave. in Los Alamos. The gallery manager and an LAPC representative will be there to accept entries. Participants will be able to preview wall tags and make corrections or changes if needed.
Please note: The Step Up Gallery manager has volunteered to hang the photos and where possible, take into account any special hanging requests noted on a print-out of the Gallery floor map. Friday, May 20, Deadline to submit images for publication in the Club’s annual show book. Submission details to be provided later. Copies of previous year’s photo books will be available for viewing and/or purchasing during the photo drop-off April 26-27 and at the opening reception.
Thursday, May 26, Show closes.
Friday, May 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: pick up photos at Step Up Gallery during unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
About the Los Alamos Photo Club:
Photo Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month and are currently held as virtual meetings via Zoom. A link to the Zoom meetings is sent to the club email list, which is at groups.io/g/lapc. Annual dues of $15 provide membership in the Club. Topics of meetings vary and include discussions and presentations on products such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, other photo processing software, various software to publish photographic galleries to the web, framing, photographic techniques and more. Photo sharing and photo travel logs occur frequently. The club also sponsors occasional field trips as well as an annual presentation by a professional photographer.
