Los Alamos Photography Club News:
The Los Alamos Photography Club and the Los Alamos Adobe Users’ Group is sponsoring a workshop on Macro Photography by Bruce Taubert.
Macro Photography is the art of producing larger-than-life sized images of small items like insects and flowers.
Taubert has a PhD in wildlife management and has been an avid outdoor enthusiast and nature lover all his life. He has a driving need to spend as much time as possible being with and taking photos of wildlife.
Taubert hopes that his images help the public better understand the “other” living creatures we share the earth with and stimulates them to conserve and protect our natural resources. From insects to minerals to flowers, he will teach us to think creatively and to approach our subjects in a different manner than other types of photographers.
Talbert has led photography workshops in Africa as well as North, Central, and South America. He is the author of Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildlife: When, Where, and How and co-author with Amy Horn of The Art of Macro Photography. He has made posters on the bats and rattlesnakes of Arizona and Mexico. He has been published in Arizona Highways, Arizona Wildlife Views, Science, Conservation International, and Wildbird. His images illustrate Smith-Southwest, Arizona Highways, and Wildlife View calendars.
