GALLUP — Work on $4.5 million in a bridge rehabilitation project is taking place west of Gallup on NM 118 starting at mile post 9.2.
This project includes bridge and drainage improvements, guardrail replacement, fencing and striping of three bridges on NM 118 between mile marker 5.5 to 11.5.
NM 118 will be closed in both directions at mile marker 9.2. Drivers are asked to use I-40 as a detour.
Hasse Contracting Inc. is the contractor for the project. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The project is expected to be completed in late September.
Drivers should expect delays and plan travel accordingly. The New Mexico Department of Transportation encourages motorists to use caution in work zones.
