The Boys U11 LAFC Krypton Lasers narrowly defeated the #2-seed Corrales Copperheads 5-4 in a back and forth match for their fourth win in four games. Aaron Doss scored 3 goals for the Lasers, the first off of a give-and-go with James Ito, the second dribbling solo past a handful of defenders, and the third off a Tyron Pietryga steal and assist.
Theo Williamson scored the 2nd goal, and with the score tied 4-4 and only minutes remaining, Brendan French provided a long pass to James Ito who cranked a shot past the goalie for the win. Players of the match were Linnhtet Htoon for his outstanding dribbling and defensive impact, Theo Williamson for his accurate passing and hustle, and Aaron Doss for the energy he brought to the team and his clinical finishing.
In a second match, the U11 Boys Krypton Lasers were outplayed by top-seeded FC Elite Chaos losing 4-1. Linntet Htoon had another strong match with hustle, solid defense, and good ball possession. In the first half, James Ito, Michael Witkowski, and Sammy Brown-Salazar played well on defense in the face of a strong wind and under constant pressure from the Chaos.
A second half goal was scored on a heads-up scrappy play by Ty Gartz to put the score at 3-1. Goalie Hayden Watkins made several key saves and central defender Witkowski stopped many attacks to keep the score close. A late goal ended the hope of a Lasers comeback.
