On Saturday, June 10, Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site will welcome Shawn Price and the Dinetah Dancers to perform traditional Diné (Navajo) dances and tell stories related to the meaning of the dances and the Long Walk period.
This will be done in recognition of the 155th commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of 1868, as well as Fort Sumner’s Old Fort Days celebration.
In addition to the permanent exhibition located in the Memorial’s halls, there will be literature and commemorative items related to the Treaty’s history and significance available.
