Boomerang Consignment and Resale on Central Avenue at Knecht Street has become a local hub for community offerings.
“Boomerang has really become an active part of our community by hosting many locals who need a public space for their art, business or fundraising activities,” Boomerang owner Anna Dillane said. “So far we have offered Chair Massage by Camilla every Wednesday, Henna tattoos by Hippie Chique Heather Beemer, Pendulum Use for Accessing Your Intuition, a Too Cute Totes purse party, and Girl Scout Cookie sales.”
All this and Boomerang has only been open for four months. In the coming months, look for a Jamberry Nail Wrap party, Pampered Chef Party and another Henna Tattoo party, Dillane says.
Boomerang also offers a train table for children to enjoy while their parents shop or visit, a giant chess set for anyone who wants a game and colorful chalk out front for creativity on the walkway. They also offer more than 2,100 square feet of treasures for the whole family.
Dillane invites all locals who are interested in having community events at Boomerang to stop by and chat with her.
“There is so much local talent and passion in this town … I am just pleased to be a part of it,” Dillane said.
When asked how Boomerang is doing, Dillane reports that it is going better than she could have hoped for. She has more consignors in four months at this location than she has had in 12 years at the Espanola shop.
The most interesting items so far at this location include a full fencing set and a French Horn that both came in this week, hand carved winged dragons, cats and elephants, and a dragon fountain.
“There are two reasons I am in this business,” Dillane said, “one is that I get to meet the most amazing people every single day. The other is that I just never know what treasures will walk in that door! It’s like Christmas every day!”
