County Boards And Commissions Begin Meetings June 10

Two of Los Alamos County’s Boards and Commissions will begin using video-conferencing software to hold online meetings this week. Other Boards & Commissions meetings may resume later in June.

Meetings had been suspended since mid-March because of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. Both Planning & Zoning Commission and the Parks & Recreation Board are meeting this week on June 10 and 11, respectively, using the video-conferencing platform Zoom Webinar.

The meeting agendas can be found at

Those wishing to “virtually” attend either meeting and/or make public comment during the meeting should use the link shown at the top of the Board’s agenda to register. Once registered, using the attendee’s name, home address and e-mail address, a unique Zoom meeting link will be sent to them.

During the meeting, public comment will be called for and those registered will be able to make public comment. If necessary, there are call-in options for Zoom. As always, the meetings will be streamed and can be accessed at the link above.

For public hearings under the planning and zoning process, wherein property owners within 300 feet of a project before the P&Z Commission may have “standing” to participate, arrangements are being made through the Community Development Department. General public comment at the beginning of the P&Z meeting will follow a process similar to that used for the Parks & Recreation Board.

The Council Chambers and Boards & Commissions Meeting Room 110 continue to be closed; all meetings will be held online until further notice, in compliance with the Governor’s executive order to limit public gatherings.
