The Blue Window Bistro celebrates a second anniversary under the ownership of Melissa Paternoster this summer.

The past two years have seen new events as well as increased catering service and new menu items.

The restaurant will host a Jazz Night featuring the Ryan Finn Jazz Trio from 7-9 p.m., Saturday June 23.

Tickets are $15 per person and dinner reservations are required.

Finn recently moved back to Northern New Mexico after seven years teaching and performing music on the island nation of St. Lucia in the West Indies.

Finn plays trombone, Andy Zadrozny will play upright bass, and Loren Bienvenue will be on drums.

Finn has performed with St. Lucian jazz icons Luther Francois, Emerson Nurse, Allison Marquis, Richardo Francois, Barbara Cadet and Ronald “Boo’ Hinkson.

His experiences in the Caribbean bring a unique sound to his music, blending calypso, reggae and other Caribbean folk styles with the jazz he performs.

He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 2000. In the past few months he has performed with many local musicians in the Santa Fe area including the Three Faces of Jazz, Andy Kingston, Pat Malone, Arlen Asher, Jan McDonald, Chris Ishee and John Trentacosta, among others.

The regular dinner menu will be offered from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. All menus are posted at labluewindowbistro.com.

The Blue Window Bistro has 29 years of service. Melissa Paternoster has been the owner since June of 2010. She is a native of Los Alamos and a graduate of Los Alamos High School. The Blue Window Bistro is at 813 Central Ave. in downtown Los Alamos.
