Blue Bus Connects Communities To Food Resources Amid Federal Government Shutdown

NCRTD News:

As the ongoing U.S. government shutdown continues to impact communities across northern New Mexico, the North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) Blue Bus is reaching out to residents and customers whose access to food may be affected.

As a courtesy, the District has compiled a list of primary food pantry and distribution centers across the region—including Española, Taos, Santa Fe, Mora, and Los Alamos—with details on how to reach these locations via free Blue Bus routes or MyBlueTM rideshare services.

“During times like these, it’s essential that our communities know we’re here to help,” said Nick Sofoul, Executive Director of the NCRTD. “Our mission has always been to connect people with what matters most — and right now, that means ensuring everyone can access food and essential resources safely and reliably.”

“The Blue Bus is a lifeline for so many in northern New Mexico,” said Lee A. Garcia, NCRTD Board Chair and Santa Fe City Councilor. “We’re proud to stand with our partners and help ensure that no one in our service area goes without the food and support they need.”

Residents can review the complete list of food assistance locations — including food pantries, soup kitchens, and community meal programs, along with Blue Bus and MyBlueTM access information — by visiting the Blue Bus Buzz Blog at ncrtd.org/news/blog/.

The NCRTD encourages anyone in need of transportation assistance to contact the Blue Bus Customer Service Center at 866.206.0754, ext. 1, or visit www.RideBlueBus.com for all route details. MyBlueTM rides may be booked by phone through customer service or via the MyBlueTM app. Learn more about MyBlueTM at ncrtd.org/myblue
