Blacklight Dodgeball for Teens at Family Conference

A Blacklight Dodgeball Tournament for teenagers, which includes a chance to win a free iPad Mini, is being held 6-10 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Los Alamos (FBCLA), 2200 Diamond Dr.

Several youth groups in Los Alamos are uniting together to put on the event. The night also includes a talk for teens on healthy dating and relationships by special guest speakers, Dr. Robin Newman and Pat Newman.

For the dodgeball tournament, teens will compete in teams of five. Teams are guys only or girls only and there will be separate tournaments for guys and girls. Teens can form their teams now or create them at the event. Prizes will be given to the first and second place teams in each bracket.

Other blacklight activities will be going on throughout the night, including blacklight painting, blacklight ping-pong and blacklight decorations for teens to paint their nails or dress up their outfits for cool effects under the lights. The night will end with prize giveaways including the iPad Mini drawing.

Teen Event Schedule:

  • 6-7 p.m. – Welcome and Game Time (Blacklight Dodgeball and other games)
  • 7-8 p.m. – (Guys: Blacklight Dodgeball Tournament); (Girls: Dating/Relationships Talk)
  • 8-9 p.m. – (Girls: Blacklight Dodgeball Tournament); (Guys: Dating/Relationships Talk)
  • 9-10 p.m. – iPad Mini Giveaway and Blacklight Dodgeball Tournament

The teen event is one part of an overall Family Conference hosted by FBCLA. There will be one session for adults on Friday night (the topic is marriage) and another on Saturday afternoon (the topic is parenting).

Free childcare is provided for the whole event. Each adult session will have a prize giveaway for dinner and one night stay at the Las Palomas Bed & Breakfast on the Santa Fe plaza. All events are free.
