He will preside over the Vigil of the Elevation of the Holy Cross at 5 p.m. Saturday and the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Sunday. Bishop DANIEL will be available to speak with parishioners and those who are curious about the Orthodox Faith. We will share a light meal after both services, and all are welcome to come join us.
His grace Bishop DANIEL
The bishop is the head of the local church, and the priest and deacons only serve in his place and with his blessing. We love our bishop and are blessed whenever he is able to be with us. Bishop DANIEL is the hierarch of the Western Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, and he endeavors to visit each of his parishes at least once a year.
This year he will share our celebration of the Elevation of the Holy Cross, the commemoration of when Empress Helen (the mother of the famous Saint and Emperor Constantine) in 326 AD, found the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. It is one of 12 great feasts of Orthodox Christianity.
Come visit us and see what Orthodox Christianity is all about!
