Friday afternoon Mr. Western Tanager arrived at a pond in the garden of a residence on Barranca Mesa. There he took a cool drink followed by a good bath then preened his feathers in a nearby tree. Once he was looking his best he returned to the pond and perched there with Mr. Black-headed Grosbeak – the pair keeping their social distance and lifting spirits all over Los Alamos.
