Bills Providing Earned Sick Leave To Be Heard Today

House Democrats News:

SANTA FE — Today at 2 p.m., House Bill 20 – the Healthy Workplaces Act and House Bill 37 – the Paid Sick Leave Act, will be heard in the House Labor, Veterans’ and Military Affairs Committee.

More than 3,000 New Mexicans have died of COVID-19, yet almost half of the state’s workforce still cannot take paid time off when they are ill.

Guaranteeing hard-working New Mexicans earned sick leave would allow them to care for themselves and protect public health, without compromising their family’s financial security.
