BeWellnm Announces Bruce Gilbert As New Chief Executive Officer

BEWELLNM News:

ALBUQUERQUE — BeWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, announces Thursday Bruce Gilbert as its new Chief Executive Officer. BeWellnm board members unanimously voted Gilbert to head the organization and he will start as the organization’s CEO Nov. 14, 2022.

“The beWellnm Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Bruce Gilbert as the New Mexico Health Insurance Marketplace’s new CEO. His experience managing health insurance exchanges and working with public school systems makes him the ideal candidate to lead beWellnm as our goal is to provide affordable health care to all New Mexicans,” said David Shaw, chairman of the board of the beWellnm Board of Directors.

From August 2014 to September 2016, Gilbert served as the Executive Director of the Nevada Health Exchange and was also the Executive Director/Benefits Administrator for the State of Ohio. As no stranger to health care, he has previous experience in identifying health plan best practices for public school employees, as well as a consultant in implementation of private exchange marketplaces. He most recently worked as the Global Benefits Director for Remote.com, a European-based technology start up responsible for the development, implementation, and management of benefit programs globally.

The beWellnm Open Enrollment Period for Plan Year 2023 began Nov. 1, 2022 and is open until Jan. 15, 2023. BeWellnm is a marketplace where tens of thousands of New Mexicans can get low-cost or no-cost health insurance. This year many New Mexicans will see lower monthly payments, reduced co-pays, and lower deductibles when they shop and compare health plans on beWellnm.com.
