NCP News:
This October marks the 14th commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance (NDOR) for Nuclear Weapons Workers.
Nuclear Care Partners pauses in humble gratitude and recognition for the hundreds of thousands of men and women who worked to build and maintain the Nation’s Nuclear Defense.
For many years, the scope of the sacrifices made by atomic workers had largely gone unrecognized. And, while our nation enjoyed the freedoms afforded by these efforts, the effects of working with nuclear materials and being exposed to various chemicals, toxins, and hazards had a significant cost in the health of these nuclear workers.
While we can never thank these individuals adequately for what they’ve done, Nuclear Care Partners would like to take this day to recognize the heroism and patriotism of these workers with a special atomic heroes luncheon.
Stephenaie Bogle, Local Benefits Specialist, will be hosting an NDOR celebration 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 25 at Betty Ehart Senior Center giving out a commemorative pin and t-shirt to former atomic workers to thank them for their commitment to our country.
Any and all former atomic and Department of Energy workers are invited to attend this event, however, we ask that if you are not feeling well or are showing symptoms of COVID, that you please do not attend in consideration of other attendees. If you are unable to attend for any reason and are still interested in receiving your complimentary commemorative pin and t-shirt, please call Stephanie Bogle at 505.365.4723 and she will be happy to mail them to you.
Thank You to all of the Atomic Heroes who boldly served our nation. It is a privilege to serve and honor you as a part of the National Day of Remembrance.
