Atomic City Transit Proposes Pilot Ski Hill Bus Route

Public Works Director Philo Shelton and Transportation Division Manager Nancy Talley presented plans for a computer-aided dispatch system and a pilot program for a route to Pajarito Mountain Ski Hill to Los Alamos County Council Tuesday night at Fire Station 3 in White Rock. The service to Bandelier National Monument runs March through November. The pilot service to Pajarito Mountain Ski Hill would run from December through February. As described, bus service would be available on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

The Ski Hill route would start at the Visitor’s Center in White Rock, head up the Main Hill, stop at White Rock and Los Alamos hotels (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hilltop House and Comfort Inn), stop at the Sullivan Field parking lot and finally up to Pajarito Mountain via West Road past the Ice Skating Rink. No action was taken by Council during the meeting. Photo by Greg Kendall/ladailypost.com
