Atomic City Auto Detailing provides mobile detailing services at their customers’ office or residence throughout Los Alamos and White Rock.

“This is a great time to wash away that road mud and salt clinging to vehicles,” co-owner Nik Allen said. “We service individual vehicles, RVs, fleet vehicles and Lab vehicles using water based green products. Doctors recommend deep cleaning vehicles every 6 months to remove dust and allergens and to kill bacteria and viruses.”

Allen is a 2008 graduate of Los Alamos High School, who with partner Sarah Downes, has operated the business since 2020.

“We offer gift certificates and our business is certified, bonded, insured and GSA approved,” Downes said.

Allen explained that he got the idea to start the business while cleaning offices for a subcontractor at the Lab.

“People were so busy and they started asking me if I could clean their cars,” he said. “So Sarah and I formed Atomic City Auto Detailing and it has worked out great. I get to set my own hours and spend more time with our kids.”

The partners discussed the best thing about operating Atomic City Auto Detailing and both agreed being their own boss is a real treat as is interacting with their customers.

“Removing sometimes years of dirt and grime and seeing that look of joy on our customers’ faces is priceless,” Allen said.
