Assembling A Ristra From Chimayo Red Chile

Award winning author Liddie Martinez just harvested the last of the Chimayo Red Chile fresh from the field of her farm in the Española Valley to assemble into a ristra. She will hang the completed ristra to decorate the doorway of her farmhouse and to dry for later cooking and eating. Martinez is a longtime food columnist for the Los Alamos Daily Post (link). Her book, ‘Chile Line Cookbook: Historic Recipes of Northern New Mexico’  is an award winning book available at www.pajaritopress.com. Martinez also will be featured in an episode of the TV series, ‘From Scratch’  scheduled to air Oct. 18. To learn more, visit www.discoverfromscratch.com. Photo by Liddie Martinez
