COMMUNITY News:
White Rock resident and Pojoaque Valley High School Concert Band Director Debra Minyard invites shoppers to the arts and crafts fair this weekend.
“We have 30 vendors registered so far, so come on out and join us for a day of shopping and holiday cheer!” Minyard said.
Crafts, music, food and a visit from Santa are all on the agenda for the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. festivities in the Frank B. Lopez Auditorium at Pojoaque Valley Middle School on N.M. 502.
“The fundraiser is to benefit the PVHS Band as we raise funds for bus trips and entrance fees to festivals,” Minyard said. “We also bring in guest musicians to work with the students. They are very excited about working with guest musicians throughout the year to continue to hone their skills.”
There’s no rest for students on sale day. Students will work from set up to take down helping vendors load and unload their vehicles to get ready for the day. Then they will move on to concessions, serving hot dogs and Frito pies under the direction of band parents Victoria DeVargas and Peggy Mares. Minyard credits both DeVargas and Mares for their incredible organization of the sale and concessions planned for Saturday.
