Artist Susan E. Roden will be conducting a miniature pastel skies workshop 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at Fuller Lodge Art Center. The limited attended class will learn two forms of applications of the medium while developing a sunset and day sky. No experience is necessary for the participants will be provided with Instructor demonstrations, hands-on exercises and one-on-one instruction.
Roden moved to Albuquerque after residing in San Diego, Calif., for 18 years. She had taught drawing and pastels at University of California San Diego Extension and Second Saturday Workshops at the San Diego Museum of Fine Art. Roden’s paintings have been featured in Décor & Style, The Pastel Journal, San Diego Home / Garden Lifestyles and has had her art grace the cover of the Pastel Artist International Magazine with an accompanied 10-page article. Southwest Art Magazine has cited Roden in 2005 as “Collectors Choice for Pastels”.
Roden has been recipient of numerous awards, including the 1994 Medal of Honor for pastel from the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NY, and awarded an Artist-in-Residence to the Petrified Forest National Park in 2009.She is a juried member with the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Distinguished Pastelist / Signature Member with the Pastel Society of New Mexico, member of Dailypainters.comand artist with Dailypaintworks.com.
