PEEC News:

Selecting the right tree for one’s yard and the best location to plant it has more impact on the landscape than one might realize. Understanding what the tree needs to thrive and whether it may cause future plumbing problems can save home owners time, stress, and money down the road.

Join Laural Hardin 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at the Los Alamos Nature Center to discover the important questions to ask when shopping for a tree and learn how to select the right tree for the right place.

Hardin is a certified arborist and integrated pest management specialist who specializes in diagnosing and solving tree and garden problems. With an interest in helping people understand the natural balance in the landscape, Hardin teaches how to avoid most issues by learning to see the root cause. She loves to share her knowledge with hands-on workshops and fact filled talks—so come prepared to learn!

This class costs $10. Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) members can take the class for a discounted rate of $8. Advance registration is required.
