With the recent resignation of Los Alamos Board of Education member Dave Foster School Board, school board position 3 is in need of a representative.
To fill this position, an applicant must be a registered voter and resident living within School Board Boundary #3 and willing to serve the remainder Foster’s term that ends in March 2015.
Interested applicants are asked to submit a notarized Declaration of Candidacy (which can be picked up at the County Clerk’s office or from the District Office receptionist), a letter of interest, a one-page resume, and a 300-500 word narrative explaining his/her intent and philosophy of education.
School Board President Bjarke-McKenzie stated applicant packets must be submitted to Gayla Romero (Secretary to the School Board) at the District Office at 2075 Trinity by close of business Sept. 5.
Following applicant interviews Sept. 11, the School Board may choose to select an applicant or defer the decision until later in September.

School Board President Bjarke-McKenzie stated any information submitted as part of the application process would be considered public information. Applicants submitting a complete packet will be invited to a Special School Board Meeting Sept. 11, at the School Board Room at the LAPS District Office for an interview. The interviews will be open to the public.
