Los Alamos Concert Association News:

Last year, Apollo’s Fire Baroque Orchestra introduced a new program packed with exciting gems of the
baroque repertoire. The program, “A Return to Bach’s Coffeehouse,” was inspired by a famous
coffeehouse in 18th-century Leipzig, the scene of lively orchestra concerts led by J.S. Bach.

Concertmaster and Assistant Artistic Director Alan Choo, whose performances have been described by
The Straits Times Singapore as “an intoxicating brew of poetry and dare-devilry,” leads this year’s
version, “A Night at Bach’s Coffeehouse,” at 3 p.m., Feb. 16 in the Duane Smith Auditorium in Los
Alamos. It will include Vivaldi’s Concerto in C Minor for 2 Violins and his Concerto in B Minor for 4
Violins, and Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos nos. 3 and 4.

“Revelatory and convivially theatrical…first class” – BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE

“Expressive musical response, drive, and color. Astonishing virtuosity…hair-raising and brilliantly
played.” –THE BOSTON MUSICAL INTELLIGENCER

In keeping with Bach’s Coffeehouse, concertgoers are invited to enjoy coffee and sweet treats after the
concert and celebrate with the musicians.

The Duane Smith Auditorium is at 1300 Diamond Drive in Los Alamos.

Tickets ($40 plus $3 online service fee) are available in advance at www.losalamosconcert.org via Tix or
before the concert at the Box Office ($40). Tickets for youth ages 6-18 are free. Music educators in
Northern New Mexico may also register for free tickets at https://losalamosconcert.org/tickets/ .
