It is that time of year again when we all reach out to help those in need. This year, along with the Pajarito Brew Pub and Grill, I will be hosting my 3rd annual, “Play It Forward” event. 

This event benefits the Youth Shelters of Santa Fe. The youth shelter provides support for homeless teens that have become homeless for one reason or another. Regardless of the reason, I believe these teens deserve a chance and our support. 

I am impressed with how the Youth Shelters provides supports. The services and materials for their patrons are not handouts, but rather hands-up. Teens that receive help from the Youth Shelters are required to continue with their studies or have a job. With the help of the Youth Shelters, these young adults prepare a plan for their future.

Why do I choose this charity? Well, I’m a teen and want to help other teens. The Youth Shelters not only support Santa Fe teens, but also many Northern New Mexico teens, including a few Los Alamos teens.

Friday Dec. 18, I will be hosting a dance at the Pajarito Brew Pub and Grill. One hundred percent of ticket sales will go to the Youth Shelters of Santa Fe. Two Local DJs, Kirk Webber (Kap-n-Kirk), and me, Brian Johnson (T-Luxx) along with a Santa Fe based DJ Ean Duran (GTFO) will provide the entertainment. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Pajarito Brew Pub and Grill or online. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and will continue until 12:30 p.m.
