Celebrate the beauty of winter and the coming of spring at the annual Fire and Ice Restoration Festival at Father Fitzgerald Park in Jemez Springs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28.
This free event will feature live music, chicken bingo, arts and crafts, and even a cross-cut saw contest. Special guests will include Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl.
The Santa Fe National Forest will host an educational booth highlighting the Southwest Jemez Mountains Landscape Restoration Project, a 10-year, $40 million collaborative to improve the Forest’s resilience to fire, restore habitat and watershed, and create local jobs.
