Many people are unaware of these companies and many others that are part of the vibrant and expanding startup ecosystem in New Mexico. In fact, there are more than 30 other such innovative New Mexico companies that you have probably never heard of, that are solving major problems and creating hundreds of jobs for New Mexicans in the process. These companies cover virtually every sector of the economy, from health care to AI.
While these companies are incredibly diverse, they all share a common trait: they were all helped in the early stages of their company by investments of time treasure, and talent through the New Mexico Angels investment community.
If you are not familiar with Angel investing, it is a fundamental step in the evolution of high-risk, high-reward startup companies. Angels tend to provide critical funding as companies start out, that are too nascent to seek venture capital funding.
Angel investing is not for everyone. Angel investors can, and do, lose money on some investments. However, being involved in helping an innovative new startup can be highly invigorating, where the potential to share in the rewards of a successful company is the ultimate objective.
While the risks of Angel investing may be beyond the comfort level of many people, it is also possible to get involved in this community by contributing time and talent. Many seasoned professionals have experience that could tremendously help a startup, and many members of the NM Angel community are helping to grow New Mexico economic opportunities in just that way.

This program is designed for people ready to make a positive impact on the New Mexico economy through their “3Ts” – time, treasure and talent, and it is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the world of entrepreneurs and startup companies.
This training on Angel investing in the startup world equips participants with the knowledge, tools and networks necessary for angel investing.
The New Mexico Angels recently announced the 2025 Cohort of the New Angel Club, which you can join now. The eight-session program starts at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 and will be offered virtually and in person in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
The cost is free for New Mexico Angels Members. For non-members the first two sessions are free, paid program is $500 (can put fee toward annual Membership).
