SANTA FE — Anchorum St. Vincent, New Mexico’s largest health impact foundation, announced Monday that it has appointed Jerry Jones to be president and CEO of the organization.
“On behalf of the Anchorum Board and our talented team, we are pleased to announce that the Board has removed the interim tag from Jerry’s title and, effective immediately, he will be our new President and CEO,” said Chair of the Board of Directors Charles Goodman. “We are fortunate to have someone with Jerry’s integrity, vision and expertise leading Anchorum at such a pivotal time in our story. Jerry is well known to our Board and highly regarded by so many of our key partner organizations across New Mexico and we look forward to his strategic leadership as Anchorum continues to grow its community impact over the next decade.”
“After almost 5 years of work together, I am honored to move to this new role for Anchorum as president and CEO and continue our work on behalf of the community,” Jones said. “I have been humbled by the deep support of our Board, our incredible team of staff and professional advisors, and so many of our community partner organizations during my time as Interim CEO.”
Jones came to Anchorum in 2017 as vice president and chief financial officer and has served as the Interim President and CEO since the Fall of 2021. During his tenure, Jones developed and successfully launched a new strategic direction for the organization that has added $10M+ in new grants to nonprofit service providers in northern New Mexico, more than $20M in new community impact investments and has been instrumental in launching several leading initiatives including the Community Health Funder Alliance and the Community Catalyst Fund.
“I intend for us to quickly move forward with the next phase of our strategic plan and look forward to working with our collaborative partners in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico to increase our philanthropic impact,” Jones said.
Jones is a native of New Mexico bringing 25 years of experience to Anchorum. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and has been a licensed CPA since 2003. Before joining Anchorum, he served as interim president and CEO of the Santa Fe Community Foundation where he had served as a board member for more than a decade. His career in business spans a wide range of senior leadership roles including as a partner in a public accounting practice in Santa Fe, and as a managing director of the Santa Fe based retailer Packard’s on the Plaza.
Anchorum St. Vincent is a community health impact organization that invests in health and wellbeing for the people of northern New Mexico through grantmaking, impact investing, and active partnerships.
