American Federation Of Teachers New Mexico Announces Primary Endorsements For 2020 Legislative Candidates

AFT News:

ALBUQUERQUE — American Federation of Teachers New Mexico President Stephanie Ly and AFT NM Committee on Political Education Vice President Sara Attleson released the following statements:

“AFT NM’s Committee on Political Education held a series of interviews and asked candidates to complete questionnaires detailing their positions on public education and labor issues in New Mexico. Throughout the endorsement process, these candidates had the opportunity to indicate their support for our union’s values and detail how they would work to ensure the continued progress of our State and its system of public education and respect for labor rights,” Attleson said.

“We believe AFT NM’s endorsed candidates represent strong voices who share our goals and believe New Mexico’s public schools and institutions can excel and believe strong unions are a benefit to all working New Mexicans. We will work to elect each of these endorsed candidates, and look forward to partnering with them in Santa Fe,” Ly said.
