COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County has announced that extra time may be needed for the Wednesday, July 26 morning commute from Barranca Mesa. Los Alamos County and its paving contractor, Albuquerque Asphalt are progressing rapidly with the pavement preservation project on North and Barranca Mesas.
Starting at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday crews will be setting up and starting paving operations just north of the roundabout. This is a difficult stretch to pave so the County is advising drivers to leave approximately 15-20 minutes earlier, to allow time to travel through the pilot-car operation. Additional traffic control crews will be on site to help navigate motorists through the roundabout.
The County reports that this project is on-schedule and the paving is anticipated to be completed by the end of this week, weather permitting.
As always, Los Alamos County Public Works thanks drivers for their patience.
