All Individuals First is hosting a 10th Anniversary celebration at 6 p.m., Aug. 1 in the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church’s Kelly Hall.
The celebration, which also is a fundraiser for the organization, will feature a dinner, silent auction, games and a raffle. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased at allindividualsfirst.org or at the door.
All Individuals First is a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Its founder, Executive Director Doris Roberts explained she started the organization because “I knew when individuals with developmental disabilities graduated from high school there were very few options for them. Many individuals would stay home and watch TV or sit and do nothing for hours on end. Our program gives them another option, we strive to get our individuals out in the community 50 percent of their time with activities like volunteering, recreation, shopping and participating in community activities. The other 50 percent of their time is spent on cooking skills, socialization skills and arts and crafts.”
