The United Church of Los Alamos
The Lenten and Easter season at The United Church of Los Alamos is filled with moments of worship, learning and reflection.
In this season of contemplation, relationship renewal and reconciliation, The United Church invites you to explore with us a path to renewed relationships with all God’s people even when we disagree.
Holy Week Schedule:
April 17: Maundy Thursday, 7 p.m., an evening Upper Room Tenebrae, Jesus’ last supper with his Disciples. This communion service is in our Upper Room, Graves Hall, 2525 Canyon Road. At the conclusion, candles are extinguished and all depart in silence.
Pastor Keith Lewis explains, “Maundy Thursday observation was, in fact, rooted in the Latin word “Mandatum” or commandment. We remember the night that Jesus washes the feet of his Disciples and commands them to love one another. We remember Christ’s humility and selfless service to others as he celebrates the Last Supper with those he holds most dear.”
April 18, Good Friday: The United Church participates with the broader Christian Community in Good Friday services, 12-3 p.m. at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church.
April 20: Resurrection Day. He is Risen! Alleluia!
- 6:10 a.m. Sunrise Community Service at Ashley Pond.
- 9:30 a.m. Easter Worship in the United Church Sanctuary.
Then the celebration goes outside with Breakfast Burritos on the Church Plaza and Easter egg hunt on the church lawn.
You are invited!
