Alison Watkins Joins Los Alamos Chamber Of Commerce As Assistant Director

Alison Watkins

CHAMBER News:

In September, the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce named Alison Watkins as its new Assistant Director, a key addition to the Chamber’s leadership team as it continues to expand programs and services for local businesses. Watkins will play an integral role in member outreach and community partnerships.

“We are thrilled to have Alison in this newly created role,” Chamber Director Sandy Jones said. “In only eight weeks, while still in training, she is already a wonderful addition, contributing to the success of the Chamber.”

Prior to joining the Chamber, Watkins served as Event Manager for Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District, another division of the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC). In that role, she managed several of the community’s most popular events, including ScienceFest, Trick-or-Treat-on-MainStreet, and Day of Arts and Culture, helping to foster community engagement and showcase the creativity and innovation that define Los Alamos. She was also involved in spearheading the Women in Business networking series, for which she recently won an award at the New Mexico MainStreet Institute in Alamogordo.

A native of Los Alamos, Watkins (née Honig) brings extensive knowledge of the community—and its people and businesses—to her role at the Chamber. She is deeply involved in local civic life, serving on several boards and organizations, including Dance Arts Los Alamos, the Hilltopper Football Booster Club (where she currently serves as president), and the United Church Executive Council.

Watkins holds a B.A. in History from Texas Tech University and a paralegal certificate. She is also a 2025 graduate of the Leadership Los Alamos program.

Outside of her professional work, Watkins and her husband stay busy supporting the many sports and activities of their three sons, and you may occasionally find her onstage dancing with her adult ballet class.
