STEP UP GALLERY News:
There are only a few days left to see the Strange Magic exhibit in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library. Artist Alexis Palmaffy will host a closing reception and give a gallery talk about her work Saturday, Feb. 8.
The reception is 2-3:30 p.m., followed at 2:30 p.m. with the gallery talk, Feb. 12 is the final day of the show.
Palmaffy has presented a body of work that is complex, multi-faceted, and delightful. The etchings, paintings, prints and drawings in this show represent her thinking about the interconnectedness of life. Palmaffy is a deep believer in the power of intention.
According to her artist’s biography, “The purpose of her art is to show that when we provide space for the divine to enter, the real magic happens. Her work spans a range of feelings and emotions — from illustrating whimsical delight to the painful journey through the dark that is required in the healing of our universal soul.”
Step Up Gallery is on the top level of Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos at 2400 Central Ave. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and 1-5 p.m., Sunday.
