Alexis Martinez Johnson
Alexis Martinez Johnson announced today that she is launching a Congressional Exploratory Committee for New Mexico’s District 3.
Martinez Johnson gave the following statement regarding her announcement:
“My family and I have discussed how we can serve, and we find it prudent to listen to New Mexicans, which we plan to do over the course of this month.”
Martinez Johnson plans to make an announcement regarding the feedback from New Mexicans in the coming weeks.
Born in Portales and raised in Roswell, Martinez Johnson has made her home in Santa Fe. She attended Vanderbilt University and received an environmental engineering degree from New Mexico Tech. Her career experience includes working as an environmental professional with Larson & Associates, which included projects in New Mexico’s Permian Basin.
In 2020, Martinez Johnson was a candidate for U.S. House District 3 against Teresa Leger Fernandez. Martinez Johnson achieved an impressive showing of 131,166 votes – 41.3 percent in the Democratic stronghold, she said.
