Staff Report
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico has confirmed that a computer glitch has caused its billing system to withdraw multiple premium payments from customers in November.
It’s not clear if this glitch affects all customers but one customer in Los Alamos reported their monthly premium payment of $195.31 was withdrawn from their bank account four times so far this month including Nov. 11, Nov. 12, Nov. 13 and Nov. 16.
A Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico representative apologized saying that a computer glitch has caused the error and the funds will be credited back to the customer’s bank account in the next 24-48 hours. The representative also said that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico will reimburse anyone charged with bank overdraft fees due to multiple payment withdrawals by BCBS.
