ALBUQUERQUE — Albuquerque will once again welcome top collegiate track and field athletes from across the region for the 2026 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, taking place Feb. 27-28 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The two-day men’s and women’s championships marks the second consecutive year the event will be hosted in Albuquerque, following a successful 2025 meet.
The event is expected to draw 400 student-athletes, coaches and supporters and generate an estimated $530,000 in positive economic impact for local hotels, restaurants and businesses in addition to showcasing Albuquerque as a premier destination for collegiate sporting events.

This event brings together some of the top NCAA Division II programs in the region, showcasing elite performances in sprints, distance races, hurdles, relays, jumps and throws. With conference titles on the line and opportunities to post qualifying marks for national competition, the meet promises a high level of intensity and excitement.
Competition begins Friday, Feb. 27, with the first day of events scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and continues Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4. p.m. The championships will feature standout student-athletes from across the Lone Star Conference competing for individual and team titles in a full slate of indoor events.
