Ahoy, Los Alamos! It’s time for the 8th Annual Crab Fest, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Los Alamos! You are all cordially invited: Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on the corner of Trinity Drive and DP Road. Catered by The Blue Window Bistro, this all-you-can-eat crab and prawn dinner, our Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, is served family-style with generous sides, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m.; dinner is served at 7 p.m. with help from student members of Rotary Interact and Rotary Youth Exchange.

Along with dinner, you’ll be treated to guitar music by Tony Chan, and you’ll have many opportunities to bid on an abundant selection of silent auction items, as well as live auction items, with auctioneers Jill Cook and Mike Lippiatt.

A glimpse at our live auction reveals a 7-night spa package at Hotel Ixtapan in Mexico; lunch for six at The Blue Window Bistro with professional basketball player and LAHS graduate Alex Kirk; a half-day Jemez Expedition with photographer Alex Rose and historian April Brown; 16 hours of professional spring clean-up by Oasis Landscape Construction; a weekend for four at Rancho Nambé; a wine dinner for two at any Pig + Fig; a sparkling aquamarine, the birthstone for March, in a white gold setting with pave’ diamonds.

In the silent auction, guests will find fine wines and cigars; jewelry and artwork; Nambe ware; New Mexico cooking gift baskets; restaurant, yoga, and massage certificates; and health and beauty products.

Your support of the Crab Fest this year will help us support new and ongoing community and international service projects. Proceeds also will benefit student financial awards.

For a lively evening of fun on the Hill for you and your guests, be sure to purchase your Crab Fest tickets ($50 each; reserved tables of 10, $500) at The Blue Window Bistro or Bennett’s Fine Jewelry. For more information, call Crab Fest Chairman Skip King at 505.662.8832.
