AgeNation, an innovative Santa Fe-based company that has been on the forefront of bringing inspiration, education and solutions to “people who weren’t born yesterday” and younger people now inheriting the world since 2009, has just announced the launch of a new global initiative – Celebrating Life 2023.
Celebrating Life 2023 is a multi-stage, non-profit initiative that serves as a follow-up to the organization’s award-winning, 40 Episode Ageless Living Television Series that features 22 best-selling authors and experts who share their wisdom, hope and life-enhancing strategies.
The series premiered on New Mexico PBS in 2020 and has expanded to PBS markets nationwide. The series also is available on Amazon Prime, TUBI and through local libraries.
Celebrating Life 2023 is being designed and produced by AgeNation’s co-founders, George and Sedena Cappannelli, who have been working in close association with The Haverland Carter Neighborhood Foundation and Empower New Mexico, two non-profits with innovative age-related missions as well as CharterforCompassion.org, the New Mexico Department of Aging and Long-Term Services, the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs, Humanity Rising and a number of early underwriters to birth this much-needed initiative.
Celebrating Life 2023 will include several Public Service Television and Radio Campaigns that will honor the wisdom of our elders, seek to reduce Ageism, and build bridges of collaboration and cooperation across generations. In April, Celebrating Life 2023 will host a virtual, global celebration, conference and virtual expo that will reach audiences in 500 cities in more than 50 countries using a leading digital conference platform.
More than 40 leading authors, experts, leaders, and luminaries as well as talented musicians and performers, film and documentary producers will share their wisdom, inspiration, and practical life-enhancing strategies on three primary subjects – Wellness, Wisdom and Wonder. Following the conference, skill enhancing courses and local community activities and events will be offered to stimulate greater volunteerism and proactive participation in shaping the future by both demographics.
“We are in the midst of a demographic revolution, when more than 50 percent of New Mexicans will be over the age of 50 for the first time in history,” George Cappannelli explained. “It’s the perfect time to re-inspire and re-empower our elders. Our intent is to provide people with a forum to live their lives in dignity with meaning and purpose.”
Funds raised will support local programs and initiatives that benefit underfunded programs.
PNM, LifeWave, Modern Elder Academy, Delta Dental and French Funerals, as well as several private donors are already on board. Several healthcare, financial and other sector underwriters also are in various stages of getting involved.
More information is available at CelebratingLife2023.org. Individuals and organizations interested in reaching local, national and international audiences can download a PDF with details. Those interested in learning about the April event and other news should sign up for the newsletter.
