FARMINGTON — Colorado-based manufacturer Durango Machining Innovations (DMI) is expanding into Farmington, creating 22 high-wage jobs and supporting the growth of advanced manufacturing in the Four Corners region.
DMI secured a 16-acre property just north of Farmington last July to support the expansion. The project is backed by $250,000 in funding through the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA), the state’s primary economic development incentive program, and is projected to generate more than $22 million in total economic impact over 10 years.
“New Mexico is backing companies that are ready to grow in our communities,” said Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Rob Black. “This investment strengthens advanced manufacturing in the Four Corners region and supports high-quality jobs for New Mexicans.”
“This project allows us to grow, innovate and deliver at a new scale,” said Reed Duvall, CFO of Durango Machining Innovations. “We’re proud to expand in Farmington and create new opportunities for skilled workers.”
The expansion site includes an existing building that will be renovated for machining operations, along with a new 11,000-square-foot facility to house specialized manufacturing equipment. The project will increase DMI’s production capacity and support a broader range of industrial fabrication and machining services.
As operations ramp up in 2026, DMI will grow its workforce to support equipment installation, testing and full-scale production. The expansion is expected to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities while creating new opportunities for skilled workers in the region.
