Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program Coming Soon To Española

Peak Behavioral Health News:

Peak Behavioral Health is opening a new Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for patients ages 12 to 17. Peak’s PHP is for adolescents who do not require the intensity of a hospital setting but are experiencing struggles with their emotional or behavioral health.

The purpose of this program is to provide a higher level of care than traditional outpatient programming and avoid inpatient hospitalization.

“We saw a great need in this community for this level of behavioral health treatment,” Peak Chief Executive Officer Sandra Emanuel said. “Our PHP allows adolescents to receive care in a safe, structured environment under clinical supervision while on site, then return home to their families each evening.”

Peak’s program provides support and treatment for youth facing emotional, behavioral, and/or substance use concerns. Participants attend PHP 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, which includes attending treatment AND school.

“The goal of PHP is to maintain the patient’s progress and prevent relapse or readmission to the hospital,” Emanuel said. “PHP may also be a ‘step down’ from hospitalization or a ‘step up’ when outpatient treatment is not effectively meeting the needs of the patient.”

In addition to clinical staff, Peak’s PHP will have a certified educator on site to provide academic support for virtual learning. FREE Transportation will be available if needed.
