ACCT News:

Atomic City Children’s Theater is proud to present its production of Disney The Lion King Jr. All of your favorite characters from the classic Disney film and hit Broadway musical are here – Simba, Nala, Scar, Pumbaa, Timon, Zazu, and of course, Rafiki!

Disney The Lion King Jr. will be presented at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith Auditorium.

ACCT’s Co-Directors, Daren Savage and Kelsey Cline were both very pleased how well this cast worked with this show which features songs in six different languages. “We couldn’t be more proud of our talented cast. This show is one of the most difficult we’ve produced and they continue to shine through it all.”  Savage said.

Savage and Cline noted that this is a great way to start the holiday season with lots of singing, dancing and a story of love, loss, and redemption.

The cast and directors would like to invite everyone out to support our students. As always, Atomic City Children’s Theater shows are free to the public.

Disney The Lion King Jr. is a musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice along with the musical score created by Hans Zimmer with choral arrangements by Lebo M. The musical features actors in animal costumes.

In September 2014, The Lion King became one of the most successful in Broadway history, winning six Tony Awards including Best Musical, and is still running to this day in New York, becoming the fourth longest-running show and highest grossing Broadway production in history.
