I would like to take a minute to thank all of the first responders, County line crew staff, and emergency operations for their actions and responses during Sunday night’s power failure.
The arc flash in the western area was impressive. It lit the sky like daylight for blocks. All that arrived on scene were focused and very professional. They listened to the concerns for our neighbors and verified that the situation was safe.
For a one inch feed line to arc on a clear dark night, it was most impressive. The one foot gap in the lines is a reminder to all that power lines, transformers, and household feed lines are nothing to play with. Fire crews arrived to ensure the fire caused by the arc was under control.
County lines crews are continuing to ensure power supply, that which we oft take for granted, is restored to all the citizens of Los Alamos. If you have a chance to thank them personally, please do so.
