Los Alamos County Open Space and Trails Division is excited to announce the release of the Draft Open Space and Trails Management Plan, now available for public review and comment.
Developed in partnership with Sites Southwest Consultants, the draft plan streamlines and consolidates multiple past planning efforts into a single, easy-to-use document.
The updated plan removes redundancies, resolves past conflicts, and introduces new strategies focused on accessibility, public education, ecological restoration, and data-driven management.
This plan lays the foundation for a cohesive and sustainable approach to managing the County’s cherished open spaces and trail systems for years to come.
Community feedback is strongly encouraged. Residents are invited to review the draft and share input to help shape the final plan:
