VCNP News:

After fixing a glitch, Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP) has just reopened registration for its first Family Fishing Clinic of the 2025 season, coming up on Saturday, June 7.

The community is invited to join VCNP and New Mexico Trout in learning all about flyfishing. In the morning, participants will discover what flyfishing is about, including reading the water, appropriate equipment, insect life, and fly-casting.

After lunch, participants will head out to San Antonio Creek for a guided flyfishing experience and the chance to catch a beautiful wild brown trout.

Thanks to a grant from the National Park Foundation, this event is free and all equipment will be provided.

This event is open to 15 participants of all ages. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
