COUNTY News:

Camp May will be limited to campground use 12 p.m., Friday through Saturday nights, vacating by 12 p.m., Sunday. This season will be on a first-come first-served basis due to the construction of a potable water line. The Fire Protection Project (JMFPP) plans call for the construction of a potable water pipeline up to the ski hill, as well as improved electric and fiber optic utilities along Camp May Road at Pajarito Mountain. Work on the project is scheduled to start April 1.

Camp May will open May 1, and reservations will not be available during the 2025 season. For those using the campgrounds during the weekends, we ask that campers extinguish campfires, pack up belongings and leave the area no later than Sunday at noon. The entrance/exit to Camp May will be closed and locked each Sunday to accommodate construction during the week.

Camp May is a popular campground for locals and visitors, due to its proximity to the Los Alamos townsite, Forest Service trails, and Pajarito Mountain ski area.
