Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) has hope to identify Idaho State University (ISU) Bengals in our midst and the possibility for alumni gatherings. ISU, located in Pocatello, Idaho, started in 1901 and today is Bengal Giving Day! They will spend 1,901 minutes fundraising for the school and reaching out to alumni.
According to www.vetsexplainpets.com, “a group of Bengal Tigers is called a ‘streak’ or an ‘ambush’. Additionally, while Bengal tigers are typically solitary animals, they may form temporary groups for a variety of reasons.”
C’YA is hoping to gather Bengals for some of those temporary reasons. The first starts with a small fundraiser to unite a streak of Bengals during the day of giving. The Alumni Relation’s office has sent the non-profit a Bengal banner and sticker, which they hope will increase awareness. C’YA will offer for the items for a raffle at just $5 a ticket with plans to draw the winner at a May 3 community event.
While the ISU Day of Giving is just one day, the raffle will be open until the time of the drawing. You must live in New Mexico to enter. C’YA will even mail the banner to the winner. The second hope is that the idea may lead to an ambush of alumni to attend the Sept. 6 football game against the UNM Lobos (woof woof). Next month ISU leadership will meet to decide if a formal tailgate event can be arranged and those purchasing a ticket for the raffle will be notified of the activity.
Ready, Set, ROAR! You can learn more at bengalgivingday.com, which has an actual count-down clock or follow them on Facebook at IdahoStateAlumni. The funds raised by C’YA will be sent to the ROAR Scholarship fund, which has a $5,000 match.
