Join Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church at 3900 Trinity Drive for their free Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4. Community members are invited to  enjoy good food and fellowship while enjoying some New Orleans style jazz performed by Jan McDonald and his brass quintet between 5:30-6:30 p.m.  

There will be plain pancakes as well as gluten-free, all the toppings for the pancakes, sausage, fruit salad, and drinks. During the free event, Trinity on the Hill will collect donations to benefit House of Hope. House of Hope is a mission from Trinity on the Hill that raises money all year long to build a home for a family in need in Juarez, Mexico. Trinity on the Hill has been sending teams to Juarez since 2005.  

Activities for children include face painting and Mardi Gras mask making.  

Ash Wednesday is always immediately preceded by Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras. The tradition of a pancake supper comes from the old English custom of using up the fattening ingredients in the house to prepare for fasting during Lent.
